Swansea firm, Bowen Hopkins feature in ECA’s new digital series, Electrifying our Future. The series launched at the House of Lords in February, with a keynote by Lord Don Foster an advocate for embedding workforce competence and electrical safety in energy transition policy.

The film features Sean Brandrick, whose career is built on skill, adaptability, and a drive to stay ahead in an evolving industry. As an Electrical Supervisor at Bowen Hopkins Limited, he understands that upskilling isn’t just about keeping pace — it’s about leading the charge. Having qualified in 2010, Sean has witnessed the rapid changes in electrotechnical work, particularly in renewables. Now, he’s embracing the opportunity to expand his expertise in solar panels, EV charging, and heat pumps, ensuring he’s prepared for the challenges and opportunities of a net zero future.

For Sean, professional development is more than a personal investment — it’s about maintaining safety, reliability, and excellence in an industry undergoing constant transformation. By deepening his knowledge of low-carbon technologies, he’s not only enhancing his career but also helping to future-proof the sector. With renewables becoming a core part of electrical work, Sean and his colleagues are proving that the best way to power the future is to be prepared for it.
