Find an ECA Member

As a specifier you undoubtedly want to minimise your organisational and project risk. ECA Members are:

Specifying an ECA Member gives you the peace of mind that work will be completed to the highest standard.

As a consultant or specifier you undoubtedly want to minimise your organisational and project risk when you appoint a contractor, engineer or installer - that's where ECA comes in. An essential criteria of membership is that businesses must prove they have been technically assessed.

Technically Assessed

ECA Members are regularly assessed by the industry’s foremost technical certification schemes for competency and compliance.

To be an ECA Member, businesses must be thoroughly assessed for their technical ability and undergo regular, industry-recognised assessments. Through this we can ensure that they work to the highest industry safety and quality standards and that they manage, supervise and carry out work with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience.

You can ask all ECA Members to show you their Technical Compliance Certificate, which relates to their proven work activity.

ECA recognises third party certification schemes, such as those showcased here, as an effective route to providing this assurance.

Championed by ECA's team of leading experts

ECA Members have direct access to professional support and advice from ECA's team of industry-leading experts. With this bespoke guidance Members can ensure they they are compliant and competent throughout their projects.

Members receive expert technical support and guidance covering the full range of electrotechnical, fire & security disciplines.

Help and advice on employment law and good employment practice covering all issues that arise before, during and after employment.

ECA offers extensive information and advice across a broad range of contractor health and safety issues.

Support and advice relating to key aspects of contractual business matters in both commercial and domestic settings.

Guidance and support on apprenticeships and navigating through the technical education and skills system.

ECA helps Members to engage with requirements to manage their own environmental impacts and increasingly, those in their supply chain.

ECA Guarantee of Work

The ECA Guarantee of Work provides a free benefit to the clients of ECA Members. If, once completed, works covered are discovered to be non-compliant with relevant technical standards, the works will be reinstated to be compliant with the relevant standards.

It automatically applies to all Members’ work and, subject to its terms and conditions, removes the need to enter into an insurance-backed ‘warranty’ contract.

It is also Part P and TrustMark compliant.

ECA Bond

The ECA Bond is not a performance bond, but it may be accepted in lieu of a performance bond by a client as it covers the same principle risk i.e. contractor insolvency prior to completion of the works.

As it is free, it also saves both parties significant sums.

The ECA Bond also provides you with the assurance that:

  • If, prior to completion of the work, their employment as an ECA Member is terminated, because of the insolvency of your business, the additional cost of completion will be met by the ECA’s insurer, or,

  • If, after completion of the work, work is found to be non-compliant with relevant technical standards the work will be rectified or the remedial cost will be met by the insurer (Markel).
