BSI Terms & Conditions

End user copyright terms and conditions

Users are reminded that copyright subsists in all British Standards. Except as permitted under the Copyright, Design and Patents Act 1988, no British Standard either in part or whole, may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted in any form or by any means, without prior written permission of BSI.
In particular, and without limitation, the user is alerted to the fact that British Standards in this service incorporate both visible and invisible watermarks and that the following terms and conditions are applicable in relation to use:

1.    A copy of the Work is licensed to sole named user who is permitted to install a single electronic copy of it for use on a single computer.

2.    Under no circumstances is the licensed Work permitted to be reproduced in part or in whole, either in hard copy or electronically, including by electronic mail, even for internal use within the organisation, except as defined in 1 above.

3.    BSI is not aware of any inherent risk of viruses in the PDF files of British Standards at the time that they are downloaded. BSI has exercised due diligence to ensure, so far as practicable, that such files do not contain such viruses. The PDF files supplied may contain embedded typefaces. In accordance with Adobe'sTM licensing policy, these files may be viewed but shall not be edited unless the typefaces which are embedded are licensed to and installed on the computer performing the editing. In downloading these files, parties accept therein the responsibility of not infringing Adobe'sTM licensing policy.
The user accepts that the operation and use of these files is done so at the user's risk. BSI does not accept and is not liable for any loss or damage which may be suffered from their operation or use. AdobeTM is a trademark of Adobe Systems Incorporated.
