The ECA Employee Relations team is on hand to give help and advice to member companies on employment law and good employment practice. Issues dealt with by the department cover many topics including: recruitment, dismissal, GDPR, TUPE and all the other issues that arise before, during and after employment.

Unlimited access to an adviceline provided by a dedicated team of solicitors and HR professionals.

This includes:

  1. Telephone and email advice.  Members are encouraged to telephone to discuss email if further background information is available.
  2. Callbacks can be made when requested.
  3. Template letters and precedents available.
  4. Review and check of standard employment letters, short form documentation and individual contract clauses.
  5. Where a member has had a meeting with an employee which they would like to discuss they are encouraged to call and speak to the team to talk this through and obtain further advice. Alternatively, some members will provide a written summary via email.

It does not include:

  1. Review of detailed minutes, medical reports, lengthy correspondence from employees, detailed documentation, and contracts
  2. Bespoke drafting of documents

Members do have the option to request a review of more detailed documentation, and drafting documents/letters. However, this would be a chargeable service at the preferential rate of £180 per hour.
