ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme)

ECS is the skills certification card scheme for individuals working as electricians or in occupations within the wider electrotechnical industry.  It is also a CSCS Partner Scheme.

About the ECS Card Scheme

Most principal contractors and major house builders require their site workers to hold a valid CSCS card.

This is so that they have proof that site workers are appropriately qualified in the area of work that they carry out.

As an individual carrying out electrical/electrotechnical work, holding a valid ECS cards means that you can meet this requirement.

In addition, the ECS card allows you to confirm your identity and demonstrate that you have recently passed an ECS Health, Safety & Environment Assessment test.  There are currently over 170,000 valid ECS card holders across the UK.

To successfully apply for an ECS card, applicants must provide evidence of recognised and relevant qualifications and pass the ECS Health, Safety & Environment Assessment test.
