Our industry partners

We work with a number of industry bodies to champion the concerns and issues affecting Registered Members and the wider electrical contracting industry. ECA’s industry specialists:

  • Advise and consult on the development of technical standards, regulations and collective agreements both here and in Europe
  • Represent the electrotechnical industry in the creation of legislation, industry qualifications and accreditations
  • Lobby Government to effect and influence change for the benefit of Registered Members and the industry

Our industry partners include:

The ECA is also part of key industry ‘umbrella bodies’, including:

Lobbying and representation

The ECA actively represents the interests of the UK’s electrical contracting industry in European Union matters, as European legislation affects the rules under which the industry operates in the UK. Registered Members also have the opportunity to participate in these committees.

Our lobbying agenda aims to help members thrive and ensure the progression of our industry.

Focusing on business issues, skills and training and sustainability, the ECA has taken this agenda to all levels of Government, working at Westminster, in Brussels and alongside national assemblies in Wales and Northern Ireland.

ECA proposals have achieved cross-party support at the highest levels and a range of notable successes.

To help members get in touch with their local MP about the issues affecting them, the ECA has developed a Grassroots Lobbying programme, which also supports its wider lobbying.

More information on the Grassroots programme, including a downloadable template letter to send on to your MP and a quick guide is available to members on the Grassroots page.
